NOMINATE YOUR TEACHER 2013
Nominate your favorite K-12 teacher from the tri-state area, who has shown interest in environmental initiatives, nutrition, school gardens or healthy food systems, for a day of professional development at Stone Barns! Selected teachers will spend Saturday, September 28, on the farm expanding their knowledge of sustainable farming and learning how to incorporate food and agriculture into their classroom lessons. Nominate that special teacher of yours! Here's how it works:

- Drop your application off with the marketing team leader at your local Whole Foods Market*
- Give this form to your teacher to let them know you've nominated them.

The School Garden: A Living Laboratory

Spend time at Stone Barns and learn from the experts of the award-winning Life Lab Science Program. In this two-day workshop, explore ways to engage students grades K-8 in garden explorations and student-led inquiry investigations. Using Life Lab’s 480-page The Growing Classroom activity guide, you will participate in tried-and-true activities guaranteed to inspire curiosity and meaningful learning experiences for your students, and discuss methods for facilitating students as they design and implement their own experiments in a garden or schoolyard setting.
