Local Honey from Local Bees: How Much Better Is It?
(
Saturday 7/29/2006 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
)
Join us in the Hay Barn for a sweet & sticky afternoon. Stone Barns is very pleased to welcome Vermont beekeeper & author, Bill Mares, for a thoughtful discussion of his book, Bees Besieged. Mr. Mares' book is the result of curiousity & concern for the future of bees & man’s role therein. He illustrates these insects' importance in our lives by highlighting their relationship to agriculture & food production, as well as tracing the myriad man-made dangers that have befallen these busy pollinators. Following Mr. Mares presentation, we'll welcome three local honey producers to talk about their products & guide us through an educated tasting of the varied honeys that they offer.
