Before your visit:
Stone Barns is a working farm. Millions of life forms, some good, some bad and a few that are just ugly call this home. Make your visit the best and safest by checking your clothes and yourself for ugly hitchhikers like ticks. Many of our activities are seasonal, weather dependent and variable. We advise you to wear clothing appropriate for a day out on the farm. You may encounter uneven terrain, farm equipment and unfamiliar sights, sounds and smells. We encourage you to explore but ask you to respect our farmers' work, and our animals and crops by keeping a safe distance. Do not pet our animals. Remember hand-to-mouth contact after touching animals or their environment is a health risk. Whenever possible, but always before eating, clean your hands by washing and lathering vigorously for at least 20 seconds before rinsing. Wipes and sanitizers are not adequate protection. High Risk: children under 5, the elderly, pregnant, those with heart disease or compromised immune systems should exercise extreme caution.
For the safety of our visitors and to maximize farm production, we ask that all visiting groups of 10 or more pre-register for programs or tours led by Center staff. To learn more about private group tours, please contact Diana MacDowell at 914 366 6200 x100 or
