Maggie Schwed

Maggie Schwed is livestock assistant and beekeeper at Stone Barns Center. She first came to Stone Barns in 2007 and volunteered for two years, first in the fields and greenhouse and then with livestock, before joining the staff. Her previous farm experience includes a season at Bobolink Dairy, an organic cheese-making farm. She has a master’s degree from the University of Chicago’s Committee on Social Thought.

On the side: Maggie’s first book of poems, Driving to the Bees, published in 2014, can be found in the Stone Barns Farm Store. When she procrastinates writing, she’s likely to be digging in her garden, singing with the Oratorio Society of New York or trout fishing.
