A native New Yorker, Matthew was raised in Westchester and then later rural Sussex County, NJ. He graduated from Bucknell University with a degree in Economics. After beginning his career on Capitol Hill, Matt returned to New York City, and entered a profession that he truly loved: hospitality. Matthew has worked with the city’s finest venues included The St. Regis, The Essex House, Windows on the World and The Rainbow Room. As a former Senior Event Specialist and Director of Catering, Matt has a vast knowledge of fine food, wine and uncompromising service. For six years he oversaw the Events team at Blue Hill and in January of 2021 was thrilled for the opportunity to expand his duties to include Member Services and Events for Stone Barns Center.
On the side; Matt and his husband, Tom, currently live in Litchfield County, CT. Although they miss the hustle of New York City, they are adjusting to country life where they enjoy entertaining family and friends and tending their garden filled with vegetables, herbs and flowers.
