Rick Parnell is the executive director of Stone Barns Center. In this role, he is responsible for integrating the agricultural and culinary innovations of our expanding campus; redoubling the Center’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives; and implementing bold new fundraising campaigns.
Previously, he was president and chief executive officer of the Foundation for Climate Restoration (F4CR), an organization dedicated to evaluating, developing and supporting proven, financially viable methods to restore a healthy, stable climate. Rick’s work with F4CR was a natural extension of his 17 years with the United Nations Foundation, where he served as chief operating officer.
Rick currently serves on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Fund for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and the Advisory Board of Right Now. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council; was the Founding Chair of the Board of Directors of the Digital Impact Alliance; and was the Founder and Chair of the Independent Sector C-Suite Program. He is also a member of the Cosmos Club of Washington, DC.
On the side: Rick is enjoying getting to know the Hudson Valley with his husband Christopher and their dog Audrey.
