Public Programming

Visitor Information

The farm is open Wednesday-Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

COLD-Weather Weekends

We are a four-season farm! During the cold-weather months there is still much to see, experience and learn. On a winter Saturday or Sunday, entrance to the property is FREE, and you may participate in a paid tour or free drop-in programming.

Please note: our weekend programming is primarily geared toward visitors age 14+ and includes tours and pop up talks at key locations around the farm. Families with younger children are welcome to explore the farm as always, but please note that guided tours and hands-on programming for children will not be offered on weekends as in years past.

The focus of our farming operation is agricultural experimentation and production, and over the past several seasons we have worked to increasingly align our public programming with that mission. We appreciate your support as we continue to refine our offerings to best reflect the work taking place here.

Important Information for Visitors

Come ready for a day outdoors
Please come appropriately dressed for the weather and for an active day on the farm. This means closed-toed shoes, water and adequate sun protection. Lightweight pants are more suitable than shorts even on hot days. Reusable water bottles can be filled up in the Silo Lobby.

Blue Hill Café and Grain Bar offers light snacks, farm-fresh lattes, and other locally grown goodies. Fresh baked goods and vegetable salads prepared in Blue Hill’s kitchen are available to eat in the courtyard or to take on a walk around the farm. The Café is open Wednesday-Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. Blue Hill at Stone Barns is by reservation only. Please visit bluehillfarm.com for more information.

All programming at the Center is rain or shine except during thunder, lightning and blizzards. To find out if a program has been cancelled due to inclement weather, please call (914) 366-6200 x131.

Visitor Health and Safety
Many of our activities are seasonal, weather-dependent and variable. When visiting, we advise you to wear clothing appropriate for a day out on the farm. You may encounter uneven terrain, farm equipment and unfamiliar sights, sounds and smells. We encourage you to explore but ask you to respect our farmers’ work as well as our animals and crops by keeping a safe distance and staying on the designated paths. Please remember that many fences are electrified for our animals’ protection. Do not pet our animals. Whenever possible, but always before eating, clean your hands by washing and lathering vigorously for at least 20 seconds before rinsing. Wipes and sanitizers are not adequate protection. Children under 5, the elderly, pregnant women, and individuals with heart disease or compromised immune systems should exercise caution while visiting any farm.
