Rosanna Riva

Rosanna is a Crops Farmer at Stone Barns Center. She is Italian and grew up in the countryside near Lake Como. Rosanna’s always loved food and cooking, and while her family had a vegetable garden at home, it was in her late teenage years she discovered that she loved growing food. 

Rosanna worked in hospitality for the past 8 years, mainly in front of the house, but also in bakeries. She studied Food Cultures at the University of Slow Food in Bra, in the Piedmonte region of Italy. She’s lived in different countries in the last few years including Denmark, South Africa, and Spain. Four years ago Rosanna discovered her true passion: regenerative farming. She worked in a small scale organic vegetable farm in Denmark for the past 3 years. Rosanna believes that it’s possibile to improve the current status of our food system through regenerative farming practices. 

On the side: Rosanna likes traveling and exploring places through their food traditions, baking and reading, but what she likes the most is eating.
